Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi which gained their statehood immediately after the American Revolution proceeded to send American Indians of the southeastern regions deep into exile.

The five tribes which were ousted off their lands were the Choctaw, Chickasaw, Seminole, Creek and Cherokee.
